From www.greentogrow.com:

“We have learned, in our efforts to serve as stewards of health and wellbeing for babies and children, that it is impossible to separate what is best for babies and children from what is best for the earth. To this end, we are committed to seeking environmentally sound business solutions and consider the environmental impact of every decision we make.  We use 100% recycled paper and soy inks in all of our packaging and printed corporate materials and have partnered with 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate 1% of our annual sales to environmental causes. We have also founded the Bottles to Babies initiative using our web site as a vehicle to connect families who are no longer using their baby bottles with local non-profit organizations and women’s shelters that accept used baby bottle donations.  Green to Grow has plans to partner with these organizations and to donate new nipples to be used with donated bottles.  This is truly a grassroots effort; in addition to our list of recommended locations to donate bottles, customers are encouraged to find local organizations that accept baby bottle donations and to contribute this information to our web site, where we are in the process of compiling a national database.”

The Green to Grow company is truly an inspiration and green-bebe.com is proud to be selling their products.

Thirsties are now available

As quality products become available on green-bebe.com I will announce it here first.

Thirsties are hereThirsties AIO, Fitted Cloth diapers and Diaper Covers are now available for purchase.  I’ve stocked up on the most popular colors.  If there is a color and/or size that I’m not carrying contact me to let me know color, size and quantity and I will order it for you.

Thirsties cloth diapers and diaper covers are well known to cloth diapering families.  They have good products at good prices.  AIO Thirsties cloth diapers have the same leg gussets as the covers that move with your baby but feature a microfiber terry soaker and has a pocket for additional layers.  Thirsties Fitted Cloth Diapers are very good at keeping everything contained so not to stain diaper covers and clothes, if anything gets by the fitted diaper the diaper cover is there as another layer of protection.  Thirsties Diaper Covers are a single layer of PUL fabric with Aplix velcro closures.  The Diaper Covers work well over Chinese prefolds, fitted or contoured diapers.

I personally use the Diaper Covers and have had great success with them.  I use them with Chinese prefolds along with snappies; this is my preferred diapering system I have used with my 6 month old as it was the best way for me to get a snug fit.  I also use AIO and Pocket Diapers of other brands and will soon be using the Thirsties Fitted Cloth Diapers as well.

Green Bebe now open under new ownership

Green-bebe.com is once again open for business.

My name is Kari Faber and my husband and I purchased green-bebe.com from Pam after she decided to close the store. I plan to run the business as Pam did, with great products, great customer service and fast shipping. I am an advocate for cloth diapers and am currently transitioning my lifestyle to green products. I plan to continue cloth diapering education by holding workshops and also plan to introduce more green products to green-bebe.com.

I was introduced to cloth diapers last summer when I saw a local newspaper featuring green-bebe.com. At the time I was expecting my first child and was interested in learning all I could about diapering options. My husband and I talked a lot about cloth diapers and wanted to give them a test run to see how it worked with our lifestyle, unfortunately I didn’t get around to buying them until after our daughter was born. Admittedly our daughter spent the first few weeks in disposable diapers and not surprisingly developed diaper rash that wouldn’t go away. This prompted me to go ahead and order the cloth diapers from the website that had first brought cloth diapering to my attention, green-bebe.com. At first I was skeptical if I would stick with cloth diapering, but it was a lot easier than I ever thought. After a few cloth diaper changes, our daughters diaper rash cleared up and without any ointment. This was enough of a reason for me to personally make a commitment to cloth diapering. I’m also very proud of the fact that I am keeping at least 2 tons of non-biodegradable waste out of our local landfills, and the monetary savings doesn’t hurt either!

I’m happy to say our daughter is 6 months old and still in cloth diapers. She has never had a diaper rash problem since changing over to cloth diapers. Her daycare provider was skeptical at first, but now also happily uses cloth diapers as they witnessed firsthand what happened when she was in disposables for just a few diaper changes and how easy it is to use cloth diapers.

Looking back to my experience so far, I’ve learned a lot in a short period of time. I look forward to helping others find the right fit for their lifestyle.
